Who we are & What we do

About Us

Albany Improv is here to keep you up to date with all the area improv shows. The greater Albany area is home to over a dozen improv troupes! We know it's difficult to keep track of all of them, so we're here to help.

Who We Are

Albany Improv is comprised of three area improv geniuses - Adam O'Connor, Laci Lee & Tom Brennan. The trio just can't get enough of improv, whether it be short form, long form, drama or comedy, and they want everyone to saturate their lives with it too.

Adam is a founding member of the long form improv troupe Sorry Not Sorry. Drawn to performing Adam tried his hand at improv and immediately fell in love with it. He has studied with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NYC and The Mop & Bucket Co., in Schenectady. Adam's goal is to help foster a larger improv scene in the Capital District.

Laci is a founding member of the long form improv troupe Sorry Not Sorry and an alumna of the short form troupe The Mop & Bucket Company. She fell in love with improv while she was attending College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine. She took her first improv class at COA with two former Second City performers who also own Improv Acadia in downtown Bar Harbor. Since then Laci has studied at the Second City Training Center in Chicago through their Comedy Studies Program, the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NYC and with the Mop & Bucket Co. in Schenectady.
Tom Brennan is a legend in the Albany area. He makes a mean gin & tonic down on Central Ave at the finest of establishments, The Low Beat. Tom has trained with some of the improv greats, studied at the New Actors Workshop and learned the techniques of the mamma of improv, Viola Spolin. He also teaches improv to kids down in NYC in the summer. Tom and his partner Jackie Lorenz are restarting his business Third Premise Theater.
